The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was inspired by a family's passion for Kenya and its natural scenery and wildlife. Today, it's the world's most successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation organization, priding itself on its pioneering conservation work that helps protect the wildlife and habitat of East Africa. Central to its incredible mission is the Orphans' Project, which has earnt global acclaim thanks to its trailblazing rhino and elephant rescue and rehabilitation programme. The Orphans' Project offers hope for the future of Kenya's awe-inspiring but sadly threatened elephant and rhino populations as they struggle to survive in the face of poachers who hunt these great animals for their precious ivory and horn. The Trust also fights to slow the loss of habitat due to the impact of human populations, droughts, and damaging conflicts.
